Devon had a member's show at Gallery Vertigo in September 2020. It was called Sea-Vivors, for the arched ends of lobster traps that she transformed into 3D works, each one unique. She also has a new website being constructed to showcase some of her writing projects and her current book, Cadence of Colour: Sveva Caetani and her Mothers.
Devon has branched out into visual arts and other creative expression. She particularly went into the world of prisms for her recent show, called Rhythms, Prisms, & Haikoans. The Haikoans were encouraged from the attendees, and a few brave souls wrote some. (Devon's word: Haikoan=Haiku + koan, a Japanese riddle). This was her third show; the first one was of photographic portraits with poetry, and the second was called Washed Up on the Other Shore, with beach-combed effedcts from Newfoundland.
Photography and Photo-journalist were the original expressions; she also taught photography through Okanagan College. More recently, she has been playing with paints and collages, and 3D materials (aka sculptures). She played a concert called Songs to Light the Way in 2018 at All Saints' Anglican church in Vernon BC as a fund-raiser. |
